About Us

Norton Bowling Club is one of the oldest surviving bowling clubs in Hertfordshire and is one of the founding members of the Letchworth and District Bowls Association. See the History page for more information on the clubs past.

The club currently competes in two leagues, the Stevenage and District Mixed League and the Herts Mens County League. In addition to this a variety of friendly fixtures are played with clubs from the around the local area as well as the occasional match further afield, the most recent of which has been a visit to Thorpe Bay Bowling Club in Southend.

Outside of the season the club is not forgotten as we hold regular social events for members and families. Past successful events have included Paul's quiz night (just don't question his knowledge of Principalities), a race night and a games evening.

We are always happy to welcome new members whether they be experienced bowlers or complete novices (we have a Bowls England qualified coach to offer tips to the beginners). If you are interested in joining please give us a call on one of the numbers on the Contact Us page or alternatively pop down to the club on any Tuesday night during the season, our club night, where you will always find a friendly face to show round, a cup of tea and maybe a biscuit (if the treasurer has allowed us to buy some :-)). We will also be holding an open weekend on the last weekend of April 2010 so put the date in your diary.
